National Suicide Prevention Week (September 7th- 12th)

The week of September 4th-10th is National Suicide Prevention Week. The Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people experiencing a suicidal crisis or emotional distress. It is available to anyone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the United States. They have been committed to improving crisis services and advancing suicide prevention by empowering individuals, advancing professional best practices, and building awareness since 2005.

In an effort to impact the lives of even more individuals the Suicide Prevention Lifeline is now 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.  It’s the same great resource/service but now you can call or text 988.  You can also chat with someone via chat at 988lifeline.org/chat. Whether you are trying to access help for yourself or someone else this service can assist. The Suicide and Crisis Lifeline assists everyone including non-English Speakers, deaf, LGTBQ+, African American, veterans and minors. The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is truly a resource for everyone.
