Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is widely known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month! This is an annual campaign to help raise awareness of this complex disease and fund research to find the causes, different treatments, and cure for Breast Cancer. This month of observance has been around since 1985 for communities, individuals, and organizations to come together every fall to support all of the lives who have been affected by breast cancer one way or another.

This month can be difficult emotionally for those who survived breast cancer and for the ones who remember the lives that were lost. In 2022, almost 291,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in the United States, with51,400 new non-invasive breast cancer cases. The statistics propose an estimated43,700 people will die from metastatic breast cancer. As of 2020, over 2.26million people globally developed breast cancer and over 685,000 of them have died. This is now the most commonly diagnosed type of cancer on the planet.
