Parkinson's Disease

Parkinson's disease is a progressive disorder that affects the nervous system. Early signs, such as a slight hand tremor, may be mild and go unnoticed. Symptoms often begin on one side of the body and get progressively worse over time. Traditionally, PD has been recognized by the symptoms that affect movement such as tremors, stiff muscles and a slow or shuffling gait but there are a multitude of secondary symptoms associated with this disease including:

Unfortunately, there is no proven cure for Parkinson’s disease but there are treatments to help relieve the symptoms, reduce falls and maintain a good quality of life. Some that have been proven effective are:

According to studies, eating healthy and physical activity not only helps treat the disease it can also help prevent or delay the onset.
