April is Move More Month

Research shows that people who walk more not only reduce their risk of diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, osteoporosis, and dementia, they also increase their immune system. Unfortunately, most people’s daily responsibilities can make it difficult, if not impossible to find the time during the day to go for a walk. So below are a few tips to increase the number of steps you take during the day without changing your current schedule:

If you start off walking an extra 5 minutes a day, then increase it by 5 minutes every week or two until you are walking 30 minutes daily you will not only reduce your risk of diseases, but you will live a longer, more productive life.
